It’s No Longer Legal To Have Sex With A Goat In Denmark

Denmark has finally made the rational and important to decision to ban bestiality after fears that the previous legislation was encouraging animal sex tourism (which is apparently a thing). The bill amends a previous ban that was focused on outlawing ‘intercourse that harmed animals’, which was extremely hard to prove and police according to animal rights activists.

Farm Minister Dan Jorgensen said, “The current legislation does not protect the animals enough. It’s hard to prove that an animal suffers when a human has sexual intercourse with it, and that is why we must give the animal the benefit of the doubt.”

Norway follows suit with Germany, Norway, Sweden and Britain, who have all banned bestiality and, in doing so, made the necessary hop into the modern day. In the lead up to the change of legislation, the Danish Ethical Council for Animals, an independent advisory board within the food and agriculture realm, issued an extensive report on the issue. In it they stated that there are “frequent reports of the occurrence of organised animal sex shows, clubs and animal brothels in Denmark.”
