If there’s one thing Australians love more than a big, fat heart-attack inducing burger, it’s the exact same burger with a slightly different variation of meat.
So you’ll be bloody stoked to learn that after disappearing last year, the Chicken Big Mac is back, with all the usual goodness of a Big Mac including iceberg lettuce, cheese, onions, pickles, two big ol chicken patties and that special Big Mac sauce.
“The iconic Big Mac and the McChicken are among our most popular burgers, so it made sense to mix up these two classics and give our customers a new and exciting product to try — the Chicken Big Mac,” said McDonald’s Australia’s CMO Jenni Dill at the time of the original launch in 2017.
Apparently, with all the success of new healthier gourmet options, the big fat feed at Maccas is looking a lot less appealing to a lot of people.
The rise of services like UberEats and Deliveroo means that people now have access to an abundance of tasty foods that goes way beyond a greasy burger and some stale chips.
It looks like the Chicken Big Mac is a different direction for Maccas, after years of trying to promote more healthy and gourmet additions like wraps, salads and the Create Your Own Burger range.
The Chicken Big Mac is up for grabs from today, and it will cost you an extra $1.25 on top of a normal Big Mac.
