Man Accused of Firing Shots into Home Identified By His Heaps Hectic Mullet

The mullet is without a doubt one of the most iconic hairstyles of all time. What started as a juvenile fashion trend in the 80’s has pierced every corner of popular culture and dominated the heads of the population for many years. Whether it’s a private school boy ironically growing a mullet for formal or a Bundy rum sipping dad who enjoys getting into fights at the local RSL, mullets are integral to not only Australian culture but to mankind itself.

While many of our heroes affectionately don a mullet, it’s important to remember that not everyone who wears the haircut is all business in the front and party in the back. Just recently, a woman was able to identify the man who fired a series of shots into her home by the unmistakable flowing locks of his mullet.

Steven James Woods was accused of firing four shots at Karen Lyson’s Shellharbour home on September 17, 2015. Lyson said she was sitting at home digging into a pizza around 11pm when she heard bangs so loud that she assumed it was a firecracker. After peeking through the window she spotted a couple of fellas on her front lawn, and one of them had something in his hand.

When Lyson was asked by the court to identify the man, she said “I seen Stevie Woods.” Lyson was extremely confident, calling on her previous meetings with her would-be son-in-law, “Because I know him; his face, his mullet, everything,” she responded. She was able to describe his current hairstyle, shaved and balding on top but with a beautiful bounce to the mullet. “He’s always had a mullet ever since I have known him,” she said.

Two of the shots hit a Toyota Rav 4 parked at the property, while the other two sunk into the front wall of the house. Thankfully, no one was injured but the pistol-touting mullet man is yet to be jailed.
