Man Allegedly Murdered By Hosts He Met On Airbnb

In a horrifying story that will certainly make you rethink that Christmas holiday you’ve been thinking about booking, 26-year-old bricklayer Ramis Jonuzi has allegedly been murdered by 3 men that he met through booking an Airbnb.

Apparently, Jonuzi was looking to sort out some personal issue and find a stable place to stay, but he only lasted a week at the $30 a night Brighton East residency before his hosts Craig Levy, Ryan Smart, and Jason Colton allegedly killed him. Colton is also suspected to have used an object to rape Jonuzi as well.

Upon entering the house, Jonuzi told a friend that he was thinking of moving out soon because he didn’t like the energy. While some praised the Airbnb for its cheapness, one person said “Better way to spend a night, buy a $50 hammer smash your hand with it and go to the emergency hospital,”

The bloke that owned the property, a Mr Levy, is a chef working long hours, so most guests mainly dealt with the housemates. The cause of the death and details of the crime have not yet been released.

A spokesman for Airbnb said they were “deeply saddened and outraged” by the tragedy. “The family will have our full support and our hearts go out to them and all of his friends,” the spokesman said. “We have removed this listing from our platform and will fully cooperate with law enforcement on their investigation.

“There is no place on Airbnb for such an abhorrent act, which violates everything our global community stands for.”

The accused men have been remanded in custody and will face court again on March 22.
