Irrespective of who you ask – unless of course it’s Jay Z – Tidal is doing horribly. The whole situation is actually kind of fascinating, and a reminder that there are systemic issues within the music industry that no amount of fame or money can rectify overnight. On top of the obvious issues Tidal is facing, it’s also interesting to see Jay Z not knock something out of the park.
He spent his Sunday on Twitter dishing out Tidal facts and assuring everyone that Tidal isn’t doing so badly. But it isn’t exactly doing well, otherwise, you know, Jay Z wouldn’t spend his day of rest using Twitter (which he rarely uses) to essentially say that “things aren’t all that bad.” Here’s a few of the Tweets, using the #Tidalfacts hashtag.
Unfortunately, the internet did what the internet does, making a parody Twitter account to hijack the #tidalfacts hashtag and give everyone a few hilarious truth bombs. Prepare yourself:
