The Sounds of Nakagin

I first booked Nakagin out of a suggestion from a friend, Mikey Carr, who runs a quirky company called ‘Chocolate Jesus’. I liked Hugh’s (Nakagin) beats and was happy to find a decent act to support Polographia last minute in Sydney. After watching him play and seeing him pack the hard to fill top band room of the World Bar, I realized he was fucking good. His live set is the balls and his beats are super too. His recent EP Elsewhere is an amazing little package of sound, the 6 songs coming in at just over 16 minutes. In short I could describe it as a mix of ambient, electronic, synth hip hop with sampled vocals and atmospheric sound scapes. Nakagin and Guerre are bringing a record out soon so I’ll post the link to all my friends in the house when it’s up. Safe to say it will be pretty decent, Guerre is the man and he’s been getting thumbs ups left right and center. You can check out Guerre’s sounds here. If you live in Sydney or Melbourne you can see Nakagin live pretty soon, he’s supporting Oscar + Martin in Sydney for the ‘Hand Games’ agency launch at Goodgood march 31^st.
