Hidden within a secret door in Sydney’s inner sanctum, a new chapter in nightlife is beginning. Intent on emulating Germany’s flourishing music and art scene, the launch of Number56 signifies a renaissance of abstract nightlife events that focus on the experience as a whole rather than any singular element.
Curated by the mysterious minds behind Salon – Zur Wilden Renate, the series launched last night in Sydney and made an intimate crowd privy to iconic artist Steve Bug. With Bug’s choons providing the vibe on a no-fuss sound system, all who made it inside were also indulged with a selection of Berlin street food from Wilde Renate.
When speaking of the parties, head partier at Wilde Renate Tom Ettelt commented saying, “We have some pretty far-fetched ideas for this melting pot of music, creativity, art and self-expression so hopefully they won’t get lost in translation. Either way you can’t go wrong with an impressive sound system, great DJs and a night that promises plenty of adventures and surprises.”
