Snakadaktal – Dance Bear (Ta-Ku Remix)

Having left us with irreversible good vibes since our very first listen, Ta-ku has become a staple artist for our functions, playlists, gatherings and the like. What’s got us even more excited is his forthcoming Retwerk EP (out August 29th, peep the vid here). His detailed blend of electronica, hip hop and jazz elements is garnering widespread support from a swag of outlets both within Australia and across the pond. That being said, it’s no surprise that the always forward thinking I OH YOU outfit called him in for a remix of Snakadaktals insanely popular ‘Dance Bear’. Now on the doorstep of their national tour, presented by Pedestrian TV and I OH YOU, Snakadaktal have gone from strength to strength since their debut release, showing no real signs of slowing down. Ta-ku’s remix signifies a perfect pairing of two brilliant (and contrasting) monikers within the Australian scene, so naturally we jumped at the chance to feature it.

The original track (if you haven’t heard it, what the fuck? listen here) is yet another testament to Snakadaktal being more than just a cool name. Super catchy in its own right, we were interested to see what path it would flow down in the remix world. Ta-ku took it by the horns and stripped it right back, maintaining a focus on the stunning vocals but instead carrying them into a realm where pitch shifting and tweaking could run rampant. Sprinkling the final vocal chops atop a spray of well thought out percussion, he’s managed to twist a brilliant track into a new realm of success. It’s a perfect way to get you warmed up for the Snakadaktal tour (dates below) and another reason to bug your local promoter to get Ta-ku locked in for an event in the near future.
