Hailing from London, UK, T.Williams managed to grab my attention a year ago when he had released his powerful tune, “Getting Mine” for YFH favorites, Enchufada. The release was just the tip of the iceberg for me, and ever since then, I’ve become a large promoter of the music he produces. One of London’s hottest DJ/producers, he has become a master in a variety of genres of music like the bass/hardcore scene, grime scene, UK Funky style, Afrobeat and a host of others. His productions have gained support from the likes of Bok Bok, L-Vis 1990, Drop The Lime, to name a few.
There aren’t enough words in the English dictionary to express to you all how excited I am about his freshly brewed EP “Can We“, coming out this month on Enchufada. The 6 track EP will blow your brains out, promising to give you the best in bass music with an added pinch of the house element. Each track is infused with its heavy, bass tone, kick patterns, and outrageously loopy synth development. Down below is a free download from the release titled “Malfunction” featuring sweet vocals from Alix. Due to this grand event, I was fortunate to sit down and chat with Williams himself. Take a gander down below and be sure to pick up the EP when it drops March 19th!

Before we start, I’d like to thank you for connecting with me for this.. Let’s get started shall we? What was ‘life’ before music? Tell us about yourself !
There really hasn’t been much life before music. Been doing the same thing since I was 13 and it has always been my main passion and focus. I went to college etc…..and studied Music Tech and was in IT Sales for a while but music is all I’ve ever really done seriously.
Can you talk about your involvement with the Black Ops grime crew and how it has helped your career today?
With the black ops collective I was just a young producer. Really I was just learning how the music business is run from an independents perspective. I always knew I would want to go into running my own label at some point in time. So it has been very valuable to my career now as I already have a clear vision in terms of do’s and don’ts.
Do you enjoy the industry as much as when you first started?
I enjoy it a bit more if I’m honest. The world I’m working in now has a lot more structure and potential for growth as an artist, label, club night. The thing is about evolving and growing into something bigger and better.

Your new EP “Can We” is out on the ever cool Enchufada label. Can you talk about the influence on the record and how you came to connect with Enchufada?
This EP is all about my harder side be it a vocal, breaks, funky or crunk track. Just wanted to showcase a versatile EP surrounded by bass. I felt that Enchufada was the correctly label as they have many releases already showcasing these styles.

Are you a genre man? Or does all the specifics not really phase you?
Really not a genre man. As long as the music is good thats what counts.
What is next for you? Upcoming releases? Excited about upcoming gigs?
Really excited about my summer time gig at Bloc in london alongside Mosca, Will Saul, Dusky, Midland and a few others should be amazing. Got lots of good music prepared for release this year, which you’ll be able to hear me showcasing on my Sunday 3-5pm Rinse 106.8fm show.
