What’s better than a cold, emotionless accolade that proves that you’re one of the best in your field and your life’s work hasn’t been meaningless? A small, loyal ball of fluff that will love you no matter what.
Which is exactly what happened yesterday at the 60th Annual Grammy awards. After Dave Chapelle’s win for Best Comedy Album, host James Corden took to the stage to offer his congratulations… and condolences.
“Congratulations Dave Chappelle, now I should say to all the nominees this evening who are not going home with a Grammy…I don’t want anybody to be upset tonight,” Corden said.
“So the good news is, nobody goes home empty handed because all night we’ll be handing out consolation puppies. Okay, so if you didn’t get a Grammy, you get a puppy!”

After the announcement was made, puppies were delivered to the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Sarah Silverman and Jim Gaffigan, much to the delight of them and the rest of the audience.
Although not everyone was able to snag a cute little pupper, Kelly Clarkson took to Twitter to voice her concern about the lack of pups in her vicinity.

So there ya go, next time you’re at an award show for the elite and you don’t win, no worries! They’re probably in the back grabbing a pup as we speak.
