The World’s Strongest Beer Is Just As Tough As It Sounds

Brewmeister are a Scottish brewery who are tough from the ground up: their logo, their slogan, their origins and their line of beers. So tough, in fact, that they lay proven claim to have the world’s strongest beer: the Brewmeister Snake Venom.

Using the finest malts and hops, their own cultivated yeast and rock-filtered water from their own private well, the Snake Venom is a brew designed to pack a serious punch while still tasting like beer. As hard as that may be to understand – particularly given the proven 68% alcohol content – it was the primary goal, according to Lewis Shand, one of the legends behind the creation.

“The idea with Snake Venom was to produce something which still tastes like beer, not masked by a harsh alcohol flavour,” he told the Daily Mail.  “We are delighted that Trading Standards has confirmed that Snake Venom is the world’s strongest beer.”

Unfortunately, the brew was once upon a time sold on their website for roughly $77 Australian dollars, but it’s no longer available for sale. There are no registered stockists down under, so if you wish to smash a schooie of this bad boy, you’ll need to venture abroad.

The Brewmeister Snake Venom has been the undisputed king since its release in 2013.
