UberEats undeniably changed the game. Instead of having to settle for a sloppy pizza or poorly made Big-Mac for a seedy Sunday lunch, we can now order restaurant quality food straight to our doorstep. Even better, unlike those pesky dress codes that restaurants enforce, Uber drivers barely bat an eye when you emerge from the house looking like an extremely hungover zombie from Michael Jackson’s Thriller video.
With all the success of Uber’s food delivery service, it always made sense that they’d expand into the much more appreciated area of alcohol. Well, count your blessings because that’s exactly what the good folks at Uber have done!
If you’re a Melbournian, then as of today you can celebrate your rampant alcoholism by ordering any of the delicious bevs found at Dan Murphy’s through UberEats. Over 30 restaurants have signed up to offer the service through the app, so you can chill on the deck while some poor UberEats cyclist lugs a carton up a hill so you can enjoy a few cold ones.
To celebrate this glorious step in human innovation, the company has teamed up with Carlton Draught to offer a 4-pack of frothies with selected meals during round 1 of the AFL this Friday. Each of the meal deals will cost $30 plus a $5 booking fee and include 1 to 2 meals and a four pack of frosty cold beers.
The service is available across a wide range of locations, specifically Melbourne CBD, South Melbourne, South Yarra, Windsor, Prahran, St Kilda, Balaclava, North Melbourne, Kensington Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton, Fitzroy, East Brunswisk, Thornbury, Kew, Balwyn, Hawthorn, Hawthorn East, Malvern, Glen Iris, Caulfield, Elwood, Port Melbourne.
It’s usually available from 12pm till 9pm but kicks off at 5pm this Friday. It’s basically the same as buying booze so don’t bother if you’re under 18 and try not to look too cooked when the driver shows up.
