It’s gotten to the point where pretty much any news regarding cryptocurrencies garners an eye-roll from most people while others can’t help but break out into song and dance.
The only crpyto stories that get my blood pumping are ones that usually end in some entitled enthusiast getting his god damn comeuppance.
Which is exactly what happened to Ichim Bogdan Cezar from Plymouth, who thought he was receiving over $5,000 in Bitcoin mining equipment but ended up with a copy 2017’s Boss Baby.
Speaking to the Plymouth Herald, he said “It was very stressful for me.
“The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that it felt like Amazon wasn’t willing to put in any effort to help me get my money back.
“I understand that they are a huge company and they may get a lot of complaints but this is something that has been ongoing since November.”
Ichim and three others had pooled their money together in hopes of buying a Tanli ASIC Processing Bitmain AntMiner S9 13.5 TH/s. After the debacle, Amazon were last then helpful with issuing a refund.
“I wouldn’t have made such an issue, but because it was such a big amount of money I couldn’t let it slide,” Mr Cezar said.
“What made things more annoying is that the seller went AWOL afterwards.
“I knew I was getting messed around so I just wanted to get the money back and move on.”
His application for a refund was rejected because it appeared he had signed for A parcel, it was just the wrong one.
Eventually, old mate got the money back which I’m sure he’ll now invest in some nice, stable bitcoin.
Just remember to give the seller reviews a squizz before throwing away a small fortune.
