8-Year-Old Steals Family Car For Macca’s Run After Learning How To Drive On YouTube

The tempting call of a Macca’s feed is not one that can be easily ignored. It doesn’t matter if you’re in the middle of a lecture, clocking in for your shift at work or attending a close relative’s funeral. When you need Macca’s, other things have to wait.

One little fella from Ohio knows this better than anyone, as he decided to satisfy his cheeseburger cravings by stealing the family whip and hightailing it to the closest Macca’s… after watching a few tutorials on YouTube of course.

With his little sister in tow, the 8-year-old East Palestine boy rocked up to the McDonald’s drive through with his hard-earned pocket money and demanded a cheeseburger. At first, staff didn’t take him seriously and thought the parents must be in the back seat, little did they realise how serious cheeseburger cravings actually are.

East Palestine Patrolman Jacob Koehler responded to the callout that evening and said the boy obeyed all traffic laws, stopped properly at red lights and waited for traffic to pass before making the turn into the McDonald’s parking lot. Sounding a little bit too impressed, Koehler said that “He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal.”

“I think there is a good teaching point here. With the way technology is any more kids will learn how to do anything and everything. This kid learned how to drive on YouTube. He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go,” he added.

A friend of the family noticed what was going down and called the grandparents to come pick the siblings up. Upon hearing that he’d done something pretty damn illegal, the little lad burst into tears and his terrible crime spree will probably haunt him for the rest of his days.

The boy and his sister still got their meals of cheeseburger, chicken nuggets and chips while they waited for their grandparents to arrive and take them to the police station. The children were then picked up by their parents and no charges were filed.
