For the past year or so I’ve been really enjoying what the UK Funky scene has been offering to the EDM industry. With a heavy load of producers in the last few months jumping on board to give their own take on the genre, they have really strengthened the music style to its fullest. One producer that caught my eye late last year goes by the name of Odiggity. An act out of Gothenburg, Sweden, his productions range through a variety of genres like house, garage and bass music. Even though he manipulates a mixture of genres, his bread and butter lay in the works of UK Funky, which is why I’ve come to be a significant admirer of his music.

His recently developed EP “Tension” via Chaya Records (his own outfit) is quite the release. The 3 track EP screams UK Funky and is a delicious treat to anybody who is a fan of of this kind of style. Each track serves up a different flavor of spice and is truly molded well, track after track. My favorite release off the EP is “Wanna Be Yours”, especially because of the vocal sample taken from the Serengeti track “To The Clouds“. This makes it set the tone well from beginning to end. I also find the track oozes a soft, sensual sound and, in the end, secures itself as a great track on the dance-floor.
